SADIE ORA AKERS, 80, OF GLEN JEAN died May 5, 1994, at Mercy Hospital South, Charlotte, N.C., after a short illness. She was a native of Wriston and a homemaker. Surviving: daughters, Betty Bartlett of Mobile, Ala., Mary Hatfield of Matewan, Audrey Like of Oak Hill, Barbara Arthur of Chicago, Laura Coffman of Fort Mill, S.C.; sons, William and Zenith, both of Chicago, Johnnie of Baton Rouge, La., Roger of Maynor; sisters, Cordie James of Laurel Creek, Ruby Mills of Virginia; 31 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, with the Rev. Ernest Barley officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. Friends may call from 6:30 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
