DEATHS
Shannon E. Withers
Shannon Eugene Withers, age 84, of Marlinton, died Thursday, April 19, 2001 at his home after a long illness.
Mr. Withers was a retired tanner, a leather roller for International Shoe Company, and a Presbyterian. He served in the United States Army in World War II.
The son of the late Isaac and Elsie Hayslett Withers, he was born in Marlinton September 2, 1916.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Kelley Withers; a brothers, James Withers; four sisters, Arlene Camper, Ruth Dunbrack, Maxine Withers, and Viola Withers; and his parents.
Surviving him are a daughters, Sue Withers Schultz, of Marlinton; a son, Jerry R. Withers, of Dale City, Virginia; a sister, Evelyn Withers, and a brother, Ivan W. Withers, Sr., both of Marlinton; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Sunday afternoon at Mountain View Cemetery by the Rev. Randy Benson.
