Daniel "Roger" Hanna, 66, of Ft. Seybert passed away on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010, at the Veteran's Hospital in Martinsburg.
Mr. Hanna was born on Aug. 25, 1943, in Canvas (Nicholas County), the son of the late Arbor Hanna and the late Verna McClung Hanna.
He graduated from Nicholas County High School and formerly worked for the City of Charlotte, NC, and Dale Walker Poultry, Ft. Seybert. He was a US Army Veteran for 18 years and served in the Vietnam War. He made his home with his sister, Vergie, and her husband, John, in Ft. Seybert for the past 14 years.
Surviving are two sisters, Vergie H. Cartwright and husband, John, and Nancy McCutcheon, all of Ft. Seybert; and four nieces, Renee Hedrick of Franklin, Debbie Hanna of Ft. Seybert, Brenda Jackson of Summersville and Nancy Lynn Hanna of Richmond, VA.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Lee Hanna; a brother, Richard "Sonny" Hanna; and two sisters, Judy Hanna and Peggy Hanna.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Basagic Funeral Home, Franklin, with Rev. Mario Claro officiating and military tribute by Pendleton County Honor Guard.
