Kentucky Deaths
HARLAN - Bazel Collins, 63, of Rio Vista, an employee of Eastover Mining Co., died yesterday. He was the husband of Gladys Brock Collins. Services 10 a.m. Friday at Harlan Baptist Church with visitation at Anderson-Laws Funeral Home.

Bazel Collins, 63, Rio Vista, died Wednesday in Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital after a long illness. A native of Bell County, he had lived here 60 years.
He was a graduate of Harlan High School and attended Eastern Kentucky University.
He was employed by Eastover Mining Company, and was a member of Harlan Masonic Lodge 879, Shriner commander, Coal Operators Association, and a veteran of World War II.
Services will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m. in Harlan Baptist Church. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery with the Rev. Alvin Boggs officiating.
In addition to his wife, Gladys, he is survived by two sister, Hazel Guthrie, Clearwater, Fla., and Edna Sentz, Sarasota, Fla.
Pallbearers will be Lewis Green, Glen Browning, Elmer Thomas, Jim Wilhoit, Charlie Brewer, Bruce Lester, Elmer Lee Jones, and Gary Parker. Fellow employees will be honorary pallbearers. Masonic rites will be conducted at graveside.
The family will receive friends in the chapel of Anderson-Laws Funeral Home after 1 p.m. today.
