RAINELLE - Eleanor Louise Skidmore, 77, passed away Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Fairlea, following a short illness.
Born June 3, 1932, at Rainelle, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Anna Rosa Hunter Sanford.
She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Dale Skidmore; a brother, Neville Sanford; and two sisters, Dorothy Grennan and Gayle Kashola.
Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl Altizer and husband, Nolan of Rainelle; two sons, Roy Allen Skidmore and wife, Judy of Willow Springs, N.C. and Mark Lee Wayne Skidmore and wife, Donna of Summersville; six grandchildren, Roy Lee Skidmore, Chris Skidmore, Kim Payne, Sandra Hanna, Shane Altizer and Jeff Skidmore; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, at the Sewell Valley Baptist Church in Rainelle with Pastor Milton Ker and the Rev. Youel Altizer officiating. Burial will follow in the Downtain Cemetery, Nettie.
Friends may call one hour before the service at the church. There will be no evening visitation.
