CHERRY VALLEY TOWNSHIP, OH - Dorthea L. Grennan, 72, of Cherry Valley Township, OH, died Thursday, February 12, 2004, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Andover, OH.
Born on April 12, 1931 in Rainelle, WV, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Anna Rose (Walker) Sanford. A former long time Richmond Township resident, Mrs. Grennan has been living with her children for the past six years.
She owned and operated the Old Fleas Hideout in Richmond Center with her husband for many years. Mrs. Grennan attended the Hartsgrove Assembly of Christ Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Diane Stoltz of Dorset, and Karen Ann Pentz of Winstom-Salem, NC; a son, Richard T. Darby of Cherry Valley Township; two sisters, Eleanor Skidmore and Gayle Kasola, both of Rainelle, WV; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Grennan married Alexander L. Grennan on July 1, 1961. He died September 12, 1998. Also preceding her in death are her parents; a grandson, Lawrence Henry Stoltz; a sister, Glora Sanford; and a brother, Neville Sanford.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 16, 2004 at 11 a.m. at BAUMGARDNER FUNERAL HOME, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, OH. Burial will follow in Richmond Center Cemetery.
Calling Hours will be on Sunday, February 15, 2004, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
