Larkin WILLIAMS
General Notes: Larkin Williams was drafted in Pittsylvania Co. Virginia into Captain Thomas H. Wooding's Company, Colonel Parker's Regiment of the Virginia Militia during the War of 1812. He was then detached and assigned to Captain Jesse Carter's 101st Regiment where he served in Norfolk, Virginia for about six months. He was mustered out on February 15, 1814. His marriage bond to Rhoda Cook was signed by Daniel Cook and James Houchins. Noted events in his life were: • Military: War of 1812: 5th Regiment Virginia Militia, Between 1813 and 1814. Larkin married Rhoda COOK, daughter of Daniel COOK and Rosanna WILHOIT, on 10 Mar 1813 in Giles Co., VA.83 (Rhoda COOK was born on 22 Aug 1799 in VA and died on 30 Apr 1879 in Summers Co., WV 83.). The cause of her death was dropsy. Marriage Notes: Larkin and Rhoda were married by Joseph Stanley according to the War of 1812 Pension Application filed by Rhoda (Larkin Williams, WC-8216). |
