General Notes:
He was a 1st lieutenant in the Summers Co. State Militia from 1850 to 1854.
Heleft Mercer Co. and moved to Mason Co., W.Va. as a result of a property line
dispute with relatives. Each relative built a fence two feet apart. John was a
farmer in Mason co. The family were members of the Baptist Church. They were
received into the Church in 1858 by Rev. Matthew Elliston.
John married Celia PETRY on 10 Nov 1846. (Celia PETRY was born on 5 Jul 1827 in Giles Co., VA and died on 11 Feb 1887 in Mason Co., WV.)
