Trudy Thompson, 70, of Lordsburg, passed away at her home Tuesday, March 27, 2001. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Lordsburg Funeral Home. Mermorial funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2001, at Lordsburg Funeral Home with Reverend Rick Parker officiating.
Thompson was bron August 4, 1930, in Marfrance, West Virginia. She was the daughter of Lewis E. Phipps and Virginia Ellen Haley Phipps. She was married to Manuel James Thompson, who preceded her in death.
Thompson is survived by one daughter, Millie E. Thompson, of Lordsburg; two sons, Dennis Phipps and his wife, Cindy, of Delaware City, Delaware, and David Phipps and his wife, Julie, of Hines, West Virginia; one brother, Ulyss Phipps of Tucson, Arizona; two sisters, Louise Lloyd of Oregon and Stella Hunter and her husband Roy of Crawley, West Virginia; nine grandchildren, Dennis Phipps, Walter Phipps, Samuel Phipps, all of New Castle, Delaware, William Phipps of Charmco, West Virginia, Olyss Phips, Ashley Phipps and Jessica Phipps, all of Hines, West Virginia, and James Thompson and Stephanie Thompson of Lordsburg; and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one granddaughter, Tracey Phipps Folker.
Lordsburg Funeral Home is handling all arrangements.
