PHIPPS RITES PLAN TODAY
Painter Who Dropped Dead Tuesday Will Be Buried At Prosperity
Funeral services will be conducted from the Beaver Community church this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock for Enoch H. Philips, 46, who drops dead near his home in Beaver Monday night.
Rev. E. W. Powers, assisted by Rev. B. H. Burns, will be in charge. Burial will follow in the family cemetery at Prosperity.
Phipps, a painter, died as he alighted from his automobile at a Beaver service station Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock. He had driven only a short distance to the station. Mr. Phipps had been in ill health for several months with a heart ailment, recently returned from a veteran's hospital in Huntington.
Born in Raleigh county March 18, 1894, he was the son of Crockett and Mary Milam Phipps.
Surviving besides his widow, Mrs. Clara Elliott Phipps are three children, Eugene, 14; Charles, ten; and Betty, 12; two brothers, Walter Phipps, Clearmont; and Louis Phipps, Crawley; and four sisters, Mrs. Nettie Arnold, Beckley; Mrs. B.G. McGraw, Kimberly; Norma Phipps, Beckley; and Wavie Phipps, Cincinnati.
Active pallbearers will be Okey Meadows, C. E. Ferguson, James St. Clair, Charles Bigelow and William McNeil.
