One night, Robert came to Sarah's home and placed a ladder by her bedroom window on the second floor. As Sarah was climbing out the window, she lost one of her shoes. Not wanting to wake her parents, Robert told her to ignore the shoe, he would buy her another pair later. Noted events in his life were: • Military: Civil War: Corporal, Co. Robert married Sarah Elizabeth "Lizzie" SQUIRES, daughter of William Granville SQUIRES and Mariah Jane MORRISON, on 7 Dec 1865 in Blacksville, Greene Co., PA 508.,509 (Sarah Elizabeth "Lizzie" SQUIRES was born on 15 Jun 1846 in Braxton Co., VA,40,508 died on 3 Sep 1888 in Chapel, Braxton Co., WV 508 and was buried in Chapel Cemetery, Chapel, Braxton Co., WV.). The cause of her death was consumption. Marriage Notes: Married by J. R. Tygard, a Justice of the Peace for Wayne Township, Greene County, Pennsylvania; whose home and office was within twenty feet of the Mason-Dixon line, at Blacksville. |
