Lewisburg - Winona M. "Nanny" Hanson, 86, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2006, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Fairlea.
She was born July 23, 1919, at Hughart, the daughter of the late John E. and Elsie B. Kelly.
Mrs. Hanson was a housewife and a member of Sinking Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Slater W. Hanson; son, Gene Edwin Hanson; two sisters, Peachie Remley, and Bessie Bennett; and two brothers, William B. and Mack Kelly.
Survivors include: two daughters, Carol Ann Bostic and husband, Ralph of Lewisburg and Sue H. James and husband, Charles of Roanoke, VA; two sons, Sherman Lee Hanson and wife, Patricia of Colonial Heights, VA, and Teddy D. Hanson and wife, Mary Ruth of Lewisburg; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, July 5, at Wallace Memorial Cemetery at Clintonville where Rev. Johnathan Comer officiated.
Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg was in charge of the arrangements.
