CLINTONVILLE - Alstin O. Crane, 72, of Clintonville, died Sunday, May 27, 2001 at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center of Fairlea following a long illness. Born March 25, 1929, at Friars Hill, he was the son of the late Eddie E. and Bessie B. Viers Crane. Mr. Crane was a retired mechanic and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian E. Patton Crane in 1999; a sister, Irene Cohenour in 1979, and a brother, Orville Crane in 1994. Survivors include a daughter, Karen S. Hinz and husband Russell of Clintonville; two sons, Daniel A. Crane and wife Darlene of Crawley, and Gary L. Crane of Clintonville; three sisters, Ina Franklin of Dover, Penn., Chris Mills of Brookston, Ind., and Maycel Williams of Frankford; three brothers, Garland Crane of Lewisburg, Lanford Crane of Lewisburg, and Harold Crane of Lewisburg; three grandchildren, Chad, Kristy, and Becky, and one great-grandchild, Chelcey. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Wallace & Wallace Chapel in Rainelle with the Rev. Leroy Crane officiating. Burial will follow at Wallace Memorial Cemetery in Clintonville. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Arrangements by Wallace & Wallace of Rainelle.
