HUSON, Daisy ?Arlene? (Zopp) - Age 70, of Roseburg, Oregon, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 4, 2006, in the care of Mercy House after a courageous nine year battle with lymphoma. Arlene was born on June 5, 1935, in Rupert, West Virginia, one of 14 children born to Etta and Elmer Zopp. Arlene moved to Southern California in 1953, and soon after began her 35 year career in the Aerospace Industry. While working at Hycon Manufacturing she met the love of her life, Ed Huson. They were married in November of 1976, and retired from McDonnell Douglas in 1990, moving to Roseburg in June of 1992. Arlene was a member of the First Conservative Baptist Church in Roseburg and was active in the Rejoicer?s Sunday school class, women?s Bible studies and other women?s ministries. She loved bowling, fishing, traveling, gatherings with family and friends, and walking her precious dog, ?Tammy?. She was a caring and loving person who will be missed by all who knew her. Her husband, Edward Huson preceded her in death. She is survived by brothers, Murrell H. Zopp of Rupert, W. Virginia; Colbert Zopp of High Point, North Carolina; sisters, Ruth Coalson of Cartersville, Georgia; Loretta Kudek of West Land, Michigan; Edith Keszler of Monmouth, Oregon; Eleanor Hathaway of Melbourne, Florida; Velma Blackwell of Grafton, Ohio; Shirley Price of Glen Morgan, W. Virginia; step-children, Steve and Linda Huson; Don and Bonnie Huson; Gayle and Dale Shaffer; six loving grandchildren also survive her. A memorial service will be held at the First Conservative Baptist Church on Wednesday, January 11, 2006, at 1 p.m., with a private graveside service earlier in the day. Arrangements are through LONG & SHUKLE MEMORIAL CHAPEL. Viewing will be held on Tuesday evening, January 10, 2006, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
