RAINELLE - Catherine Elizabeth Smailes, 73, of Rainelle died Thursday, Oct. 26, 1995, at home after a long illness. She was a member of Sturgeon Branch Baptist Church, Rainelle and a homemaker. Surviving: daughter, Judy Phillips of Mechanicsville, Md.; sons, Robert Lee of Jonesborough, Tenn., Elbert Jackson of Boston, Mass., John Allen of Inwood, Hobert Eugene of Roanoke, Va., Paul Edward "Eddie" of Rainelle, Timothy Wayne of Berkeley Springs; brother, Gary Shawver of Kissimmee, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Wallace-Wallace Funeral Home, Rainelle, with the Rev. Mike Tincher and the Rev. Bennie Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Sims Cemetery, Rainelle. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Wallace-Wallace Funeral Home, Rainelle. Family suggests memorial contributions sent to the Arthritis Foundation or Sturgeon Branch Baptist Church.
