BECKLEY ? Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Pallares of 117 Forest Ave. here are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Miss lona Zelda Richmond, to Lacy Preston Shawver, Seaman Apprentice, USN., son of Mr. and Mrs. Lacy M. Shawver of Smithers.
Plans are being made for an open-church winter wedding.
A GRADUATE of Woodrow Wilson High School in Beckley, Miss Richmond attends West Virginia Institute of Technology at Montgomery where she is majoring in chemistry and minoring in mathematics.
Her fiance was graduated from Nuttall High School in Lookout and attended West Virginia Institute of Technology where he majored in musical education. He is attending the Journalist School of the U. S. Navy at Great Lakes, Ill.
