Calvin Hunter, 49, Takes Own Life
DAWSON (RNS) - Calvin Hunter, 49, of Dawson died Saturday at his home of gunshot wounds. State Police said the wounds were self-inflicted.
Born Feb. 11, 1921, at Dawson, he was a son of the late George Washington and Lucy Witt Hunter.
He had been lifelong resident of Dawson and was a disabled painter for the Greenbrier County Board of Education.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Merlene Houchins Hunter and five brothers, Leslie of Bluefield, Clarence of Nettie, Willie of Marysville, Ohio, Walter of Columbus, Ohio, and Robert, address unknown.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Wallace with Rev. Rex Ball and Rev. Leroy Crane in charge. Burial will be in the Wallace Memorial Cemetery at Clintonville.
The body will remain at the funeral home where friends may call after 5 p.m. today.
