BECKLEY - Helen Elizabeth Phipps, 62, of Beckley died May 4, 1997 at home after a long illness.
She was born at Stickney and was a homemaker.
Surviving: sons, Larry Dale of Bryon, Calif., Edward Eugene at home; brothers, Jerry and Gary Lucas, both of Malden; sisters, Shirley Bryant and Stella Bryant, both of Malden, Sue Persinger of Pond Gap.
There will be no service or visitation. The body was donated to the Human Gift Registry at WVU School of Medicine. Donations may be made to the Human Gift Registry at WVU or Hospice of Southern West Virginia, P.O. Box 1472, Beckley, W.Va. 25801.
Helen married Ward Junior PHIPPS, son of Ward Enoch PHIPPS and Mathel Jane RORRER. (Ward Junior PHIPPS was born on 5 Nov 1929 in Raleigh Co., WV 55 and died on 28 Feb 1997 in Beckley, Raleigh Co., WV 55.)
