SMOOT - Mary Catherine Lester, 88, of Smoot died March 31, 1999, in General Division, CAMC, after a long illness.
She was a baptist, a homemaker and attended Meadow Grove Baptist Church, Dawson.
Surviving: daughters, Freddie Sparks of Smoot, Glenna Queen of Lexington, N.C., Nancy Craft of Welcome, N.C.; sons, Isaac Houchins of Dawson, Arthur Houchins of Lexington, Charles Ward of Smoot; stepdaughters, Violet Fritts of Lexington, Layuna Harris of Rainelle; stepson, Chester Houchins of Lexington; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home, Rainelle, with the Rev. Darrell Cartrette officiating. Burial will be in Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
