BELLWOOD - Homer Gillespie, 82, of Bellwood, died Thursday in Raleigh General Hospital.
He was a member of Little Sewell Baptist Church and was a retired miner.
Surviving: wife, Norah; daughters, Mrs. Zelda Turner of Carpentersville, Ill., Mrs. Pansy Tincher of Rainelle, Mrs. Violet Aldridge of Hinton Village, Mrs. Elsie Pillow of Roanoke, Va., Mrs. Mersal Osborne of Belva, Mrs. Lillian Kincaid of Perrysburg, Ohio, Mrs. Lenora Highlander of Anjean; sons, Robert of Meadow Bridge, Clifford of Elmira, Wash., Don of Newport News, Va.; brothers, Rennie of Parkersburg.
Service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Smathers Funeral Home, Rainelle, with the Rev. Bert Jones and the Rev. Harry Zickafoose officiating. Burial will be in Surbaugh Cemetery in Rainelle.
Friends may call today after 1 p.m.
