Clintonville Man Dies In Hospital
CLINTONVILLE (RNS) - John Clive Patterson, 76, of Clintonville died in a Bluefield hospital at 6:30 a.m. Sunday after a long illness.
Born at Hughart, March 23, 1896, he was a son of the late Andrew Jackson and Emma S. Kelly Patterson.
He was a retired farmer, was a veteran of World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart. Patterson was a lifelong resident of Greenbrier County.
Survivors include his wife, Selma K. Williams Patterson; one son, Curtis of Meadow Buff; one daughter, Mrs. Leroy (Ruby) Crane of Lewisburg, and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McCraw Funeral Home in Lewisburg with Rev. W. L. Crane and Rev. Curtis Mason in charge. Burial will be in Wallace Memorial Cemetery at Clintonville.
Friends may call after noon today and the family will receive friends from 7:30-9 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Warren (Red) Patterson, Carl Patterson, Basil Paterson, Sandy Patterson, Harve Carney and Gerald Williams.
